WOMEN for BW

Giving Circle Award Applications & Voting

On Thursday, October 18, Women for BW gathered for their first annual Giving Circle presentation of award applications. What an exhilarating evening! Over the past year, this amazing journey allowed Women for BW the opportunity to gather and distribute nearly $20,000 in awards to faculty/staff and students.

The beautiful, sunny evening began with networking and appetizers followed by twelve phenomenal presentations (six faculty/staff and six students) who were selected from a rigorous application process and invited to share their meaningful projects, experiences and initiatives.

After all presentations concluded, the Giving Circle members in attendance were tasked with the impossible – voting for one faculty/staff and one student proposal. Giving Circle members who were unable to attend the presentations were distributed materials electronically and given the opportunity to cast their ballots.

The evening brought to life the impact we are able to make on female students as well as the community at large. Through Women for BW’s efforts we were able to provide full funding for three Student Academic Enrichment grants and four Faculty & Staff Special Projects.

These awardees were recognized on November 12 at the home of President Bob and Linda Helmer, as part of the one-year celebration of Women for BW and the impact the group has made in just 12 months!
