Women for BW members awarded Brianna McFadden ’24 the 2023 Women for BW Legacy Award at the Celebration Brunch in April. The award is granted to a qualified Baldwin Wallace woman on the basis of academic record, professionalism, future plans, goals and needs.
Brianna is a music education major with piano as her primary and cello as her secondary instrument. She has been active in a variety of campus activities, including BW Symphony Orchestra where she is a stage crew manager and orchestra manager. She also participates in BW Cru, the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association and American String Teachers Association.
After graduation, she intends to teach orchestra at the high school and middle school level and to direct a youth orchestra. In her application essay, she stated, "I want to pass on the inspiration that I received from participating in youth orchestra and the inspiration to pursue musical and personal excellence. I aim to be a teacher who is approachable, encouraging, and who makes a difference in the lives of students and in the community."
