Women for BW gathered on Feburary 13th to kick off 2019 with a cultural celebration of Black History Month. The group sponsored a light cocktail hour for members and friends in the lobby of the Kulas Musical Arts building prior to viewing a riveting performance by the heart-pumping dance troupe Step Afrika! BW was excited to welcome Step Afrika! to campus, the first professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping. As one of the top 10 African American dance companies in the U.S., they blend percussive dance styles practiced by historically African American fraternities and sororities, African traditional dance, and influences from other dance and art forms.
