On June 12, 2019, BW alumnae and women in the community gathered at Marble Room Cleveland to network, socialize, learn more about Women for BW and meet Malisse Sinito '88, owner of the Marble Room Cleveland and several other prominent Cleveland restaurants.
Malisse Sinito is the president of the Millennia Hospitality Group and has over thirty years of experience in the restaurant industry. Malisse’s newest projects include Il Venetian, a modern Italian fine dining restaurant, and Marble Room, a steak and raw bar in Cleveland’s historic Garfield Building, and Marble Room Sushi, a high-quality fast-casual restaurant located in the lobby of Key Center. Malisse has a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin Wallace University and will be joining the BW Board of Trustees July 2019.
Additionally, the group got to hear directly from a 2018 Giving Circle Awardee, Nanette Canfield, who shared about the impact of the initial investment from Women for BW on the upcoming event, "The Promise of Women in STEM Leadership" taking place on campus September 21, 2019. This award was presented to Nanette Canfield, Katie Adkins and Dr. Karen Munroe in the fall of 2018. Because of the support and initial funding from Women for BW, this event has gained interest from other partners, truly allowing it to grow beyond the recipient's wildest dreams. We look forward to attending this event in September and seeing the extraordinary impact the Giving Circle Member's gifts will have on our female students and the community.
