WOMEN for BW
Member Spotlights

Madeline Wallace '16

The moment Madeline Wallace stepped on BW’s campus; she knew it was a place she could thrive.

“Initially drawn by the Conservatory of Music, I was exposed to new career paths that would allow me to continue my involvement in the arts, while pursuing a professional career that would tap into my skills,” says Madeline.

During her time as a student, she fell in love with Cleveland, its thriving nonprofit and art community and found a passion for philanthropy.

After graduating from Baldwin Wallace, Madeline first took a development role at Purdue University and then excitedly moved back to Cleveland for an opportunity in philanthropy at the Sisters of Charity Health System. From there, she advanced quickly, becoming Development Director of Joseph's Home, one of the affiliates of the Health System which serves medically fragile men experiencing homelessness. Madeline orchestrates the fundraising and communications efforts for Joseph's Home, inspiring and connecting donors with a cause that is meaningful to them.

“When I left BW, it was never a question for me if I would continue staying involved,” says Madeline. “BW gave me so much: a fulfilling career path and the education I needed to pursue it, a network of friends and mentors that I have stayed connected with beyond graduation, and memories to last a lifetime.”

Reflecting on those memories, Madeline’s involvement in Fraternity and Sorority Life as a member of Zeta Tau Alpha is a highlight. “I made lifelong friends, was given great leadership opportunities, and participated in community service and philanthropy in our community.” Madeline also reminisces about BW Homecomings as some of her favorite moments since they “demonstrated the warmth and spirit of our community.”

With her career in philanthropy and love of BW, it is no surprise that Madeline is focused on helping BW students find their own success.

“The best part of being a member of Women for BW is feeling like I make a tangible difference, surrounded by successful and caring women with that same goal in mind”, says Madeline. “I am very excited to have taken advantage of the new $100 membership level for recent graduates. This is a fantastic opportunity for young alumnae to give back and participate in philanthropy in a way that is flexible and budget-friendly.”

Thank you, Madeline!
