Samantha Pringle '97

Women for BW Chair Samantha Pringle ’97 says it is the little memories she cherishes when she thinks back on her time at BW.

Memories like “lunches in the Colony Room; having dinner with my friends at precisely 5 p.m. every day; going to Speed Wok; taking ballet, weightlifting, and canoeing (for credit!), and trekking from Victoria House to Ernsthausen in the middle of winter.”

Other larger events like Greek Sing and May Day (now April Reign) also stand out, along with countless meetings and events for the organizations with which she was involved. Samantha was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and also served on the Panhellenic Council and as the Senior Class Secretary.

Those memories almost didn’t happen because Samantha was set on attending Heidelberg University in Tiffin.

“I knew I wanted a friendly campus community (smaller class size, easier to navigate, easy to meet people) and I wanted to stay in Ohio,” she remembers.  “I was torn between BW and Heidelberg. I was so sure I was going to Heidelberg, I didn’t make a campus visit to BW.”

However, BW’s great financial aid package and proximity to home won over Samantha and her parents.

She graduated from BW in 1997 and later from Kent State University with a master’s in library science in 2005. She now serves as project manager with Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Continuing Education since 2019. Before that, she served as the Director of Continuing Legal Education and Sections for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association for 12 years.

Samantha’s fond memories of meeting amazing people at BW brought her back to her alma mater when she decided to join Women for BW.

“I had such a wonderful experience at BW, and I want to do my part to support the next generation of BW students,” she says.

Now serving as Women for BW’s Chair, she says, “I have really enjoyed meeting women that I may not have met otherwise, and we already know we have something in common – BW!  An added bonus is that I like knowing that my contributions to BW are directly impacting women students and/or faculty.”

Thank you, Samantha!
