Liz Clay '07

Liz graduated from Baldwin Wallace in 2007 with a degree in English. After graduation, she moved to Virginia to work as the administrative manager at the University of Virginia Art Museum (now the Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia) and fell in love with working in museums. She returned home to Cleveland in 2010 and took a position as the Pre-K programs specialist at The Cleveland Museum of Art until 2017 when she gave birth to her son.

While staying home, Liz earned her Master of Library and Information Science, with an emphasis on children’s librarianship from Kent State University in December of 2019. She hopes to combine her love of art and literature – especially children’s literature – and return to working with young children in either a museum or library setting in the future.

When Liz first walked onto Baldwin Wallace’s campus, she sensed a feeling of warmth and community that she loved, and she knew she wouldn’t just be a number here. Liz valued the smaller class sizes that allowed her to create meaningful connections with faculty, and the countless organizations and activities that allowed her to make an impact on the campus community.

The experience that had the biggest impact on her was working as a student director for the New Student Orientation Program. Liz loved collaborating with her friends, fellow students, and staff to create a positive and welcoming experience for new students.

Now, as an alumna, her hope is to give back to the community that has given so much to her. As a member of Women for BW, Liz is honored to be supporting the aspirations of students, and the groundbreaking projects taken on by faculty and staff. Her pride in Baldwin Wallace has grown immensely after reading and hearing about all the incredible work happening on the campus, and she can’t wait to see the collective impact Women for BW will make for years to come.

Her life continues to be impacted every day by Baldwin Wallace thanks to the lifelong relationships she made – including her husband, Corey! Liz cherishes that even today, returning to BW is like coming home.

Thank you, Liz!
