Carly Arthur '18

A career in nonprofit management was the goal for Carly Arthur ’18 when she set her sights on BW. “I was the first class to graduate with my degree, a B.A. in Public and Nonprofit Management,” she says.

While at BW, Carly dove into campus life. She was a resident assistant, worked in the BW School of Business and became involved in the Student Ambassadors, a BW service organization that builds and reinforces relationships among BW alumni and the University by supporting its mission.

Her time at BW was filled with amazing memories, especially while participating in the varsity track and field teams.

“I was able to meet Olympic gold medalist, Harrison Dillard, multiple times as well as be a part of the 2016 NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor National Championship Team,” she says.

Three of her teammates would go on to win the National Championship title, the first-ever national title in women’s track and field at BW.

It was also at BW that Carly was connected to her current position as the assistant director of Alumni Relations & Development at Hiram College.

“I enjoy working in this position for many reasons, but being able to connect with alumni, current students and friends of the College is beyond rewarding,” she says. “The development aspect of my job was new for me, but has soon risen to be one of my favorite parts of the job. I love seeing how impactful Hiram has been to those who give as well as hearing my student callers get excited about conversations and gifts they have received.”

Being in the philanthropic world has instilled in her the importance of giving back to her alma mater.

“I hope to give back to BW in as many ways as I can,” she says, “even if it’s just a portion of what BW has given me.”

She especially values her relationship with Women for BW.

“The best part of being involved with Women for BW is connecting with women of all ages on the same goal, strengthening BW as a whole, but also the experience of those impacted by the philanthropic giving.”

Thank you, Carly!
