WOMEN for BW
Member Spotlights

Annette Fetter ‘15

While volunteering with her Alpha Phi sorority sisters her final semester at BW, Annette Fetter would meet the woman who is now her supervisor at the Kidney Foundation of Ohio.

“I went in for an informational interview, and the timing was perfect because a position opened up at the organization,” she says. “I started as the assistant development director at the Kidney Foundation of Ohio the day after graduation and am coming on my 7th anniversary.”

Annette attributes her success in landing her current position to her time at BW, where upon her first visit, she knew it was the perfect fit for her.

“I knew I wanted a small school that wasn’t too far from home,” she says. “I went on a tour, and it immediately felt like home.”

Annette had a fantastic four years at BW where she made many wonderful memories.

“I think the most impactful memories for me were my involvement with my sorority, Alpha Phi, and Dance Marathon,” she says. “Dance Marathon was something I was involved with all four years, and it was always my favorite day of the year. It solidified my love for nonprofits, and I credit a lot of the work I did through it with my initial success in my professional work.”

Perhaps the biggest impact on Annette was her membership in Alpha Phi.

“Alpha Phi really served as the foundation for my whole college experience – from meeting all of my closest friends, giving me the confidence to take on various leadership positions throughout campus, and making BW feel like home,” she says.

Currently, as a member of Women for BW, Annette is still just as involved as when she was a student.

“My time at BW could not have been more meaningful. I loved every part of it. Anything I can do now to make sure current students have that same experience, I want to be a part of it,” she says.

When asked about her favorite part of Women for BW, Annette said, “The best part has been getting to meet the recipients of the scholarships we give out. Being able to see the direct impact of your dollars is so rewarding. I had the best experience at BW, so it feels incredible to be able to be a small part in elevating the experience for other people.”

An added bonus for Annette has been meeting her fellow Women for BW members.

“Meeting all of the incredible women involved with Women for BW has been amazing! It’s such a wide range of ages and professions, and we all have the common bond of BW.”

Thank you, Annette!
