Special Project Award
presented by the Women for BW Giving Circle
Awards from $3,000 to $5,000
will be presented to the finalist(s).
Faculty and staff may request funding up to $5,000.

Eligibility Requirements

The Women for BW Giving Circle will consider proposals that meet all of the following criteria:
- Enhance the Baldwin Wallace University undergraduate/graduate student experience with projects focused on curricular and student experiential learning opportunities.
- Directly impact as many Baldwin Wallace University students as possible.
- Approved by department chair.
- Are directed towards, but not exclusive to, women and women-identifying students.
In addition, more serious consideration will be given to proposals that:
- Involve students in the implementation of the project or program.
- Have few sources of support and realize a significant impact
from the Giving Circle’s gift.
Proposals not eligible for funding:
- Proposals that directly benefit individual research projects.
- Proposals to fund professor stipends.
- Proposals where food and beverages are a significant amount of the proposal.
- Proposals submitted without written department chair approval.
The number of grants awarded will depend on the size of the pooled funds and the number of compelling proposals submitted.
Awarding Process:
- All applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024.
- All applications are reviewed by the Women for BW Recognition Committee.
- Finalists who are selected by the Committee will be expected to submit a video of their presentation by 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 14 (required) and present in person on their application at our In-Person Voting Event on Saturday, December 7 (strongly encouraged); detailed instructions will be provided by Tuesday, November 12.
- Finalists' presentations will be voted on by Women for BW Giving Circle members and determined by Wednesday, December 11.
- Funds will be awarded to recipients via funds transfer to a departmental account in the weeks after grant decisions are finalized.
