The BW Black Alumni Network proudly announces the
Third Annual Black Alumni Weekend on April 12-13, 2024.

All events are open to BW alumni and are complimentary unless otherwise noted.
Online registration for Black Alumni Weekend is closed. You may register by calling the Office of Alumni Engagement at 440-826-2104 or bwalumni@bw.edu.
Walk ups will also be welcome for all Black Alumni Weekend events.

Friday, April 12

6:30 p.m. Dr. Obie Bender Multicultural Awards Ceremony
An annual affair to celebrate the achievements of current Black and minority students at BW. The event will be held in the Strosacker Student Union Ballroom (125 Tressel St, Berea, OH 44017) from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Alumni are welcome to attend. Dessert and beverages will be served. Alumni are welcome to attend, but seating is limited.

9:00 p.m. Alumni Mixer
Come socialize with your fellow alumni at the Tuscany Room of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (7230 Engle Road, Middleburg Heights, OH 44017) from 9:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m. Building Our Hive Workshops
Take part in three exciting workshops to build your inner hive in Sandstone 3 at the Strosacker Student Union (125 Tressel St, Berea, OH 44017) from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.!

1:00 p.m. "Welcome Black" Block Party - NEW LOCATION!
Enjoy a free cookout lunch and have a great time with students as we come together for activities, games, and music at BW's Student Activity Center (SAC) (96 Beech St, Berea, OH 44017) from 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Come ready to shop one of our featured Black-owned business vendors.

BW's Union Spirit Shop in the Strosacker Student Union will be being open 1-4 p.m. for all your BW gear and spirit wear needs.

7:00 p.m. Denim & Blues Fundraiser Party - Tickets Available At Door
Hosted by the Black Alumni Network, this event will raise funds to support Black students with need-based funding through the BSA Alumni Scholarship at Tony K's Bar & Grille (841 West Bagley Road, Berea, OH 44017) from 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Blue and denim attire is encouraged. Tickets are $35. Alumni and friends 21 and over please.
