The value of the BW MBA is not only in the credential of the degree or the knowledge obtained in class, but also in the combined value of our collective circles of influence and the body of our experiences. The BW MBA Association, which counts all current graduate business students and graduate business alumni among its members, is a volunteer driven organization that partners closely with the Carmel Boyer School of Business to deliver high value experiences, free of charge.
Stay connected and build your network by participating in programs such as the On Demand Webinar Series featuring topical presentations by BW faculty, alumni and other business leaders; the Economic Insights panel event offering multiple perspectives on the current environment; regular talks and explorations by Param Srikantia (originally of the "Why Life Sucks" series), and other events for BW alumni. MBAA leadership is committed to offering a mix of offerings, both in person and virtual, to serve its members regardless of location or ability to travel to campus.
In 2019 the MBAA created the MBA Association Endowment Fund to preserve resources for the future. The Endowment Fund is stewarded by members of the MBAA Executive Council in partnership with BW financial and philanthropy officers.
Benefiting the MBAA Endowment Fund, the flagship fundraiser of the MBAA is the annual Master's Masters Golf Outing at Fox Meadow Country Club in Medina, Ohio. Proceeds from the outing support the work of the MBAA and Carmel Boyer School of Business students. End of Semester socials at Mike's Bar and Grille in Berea welcome capacity crowds of current students, alumni, faculty and staff to celebrate both networking and reconnections.
MBA alumni are also active volunteers. In addition to alumni serving on the Executive Council and event subcommittees of the MBA Association, alumni have assisted the School of Business with mentoring of current graduate business students. Alumni also help the School of Business with recruitment by participating in the MBA Alumni Referral Scholarship, funded by the BW School of Business to celebrate the legacy of its graduates. In partnership with BW Career Services, MBA alumni are active on Handshake platforms and appear regularly on Career Center panels.
