Reunions
Although many of us head in different directions, one thing that binds us together is what it means to be a Yellow Jacket for life. If you are interested in getting your reunion started, please contact us at bwalumni@bw.edu.
Reunion Questions
Q: Who should have a reunion?
A: Each year alumni reunite based on shared experiences. For many this might be as simple as a graduation year, a fraternity or sorority, an athletic team, a student group or student role that they were a part of at B-W.
Q: How do I get started with a reunion?
A: We at the Alumni Office are very excited each year as we work with alumni groups and class leaders to help plan for their reunions. The best reunions start with a small group of alumni who are dedicated to being the reception hosts and to inviting friends. Volunteer to be a part of the host committee.
Q: What support will the Alumni Office provide?
A: The Alumni Office is committed to providing the support needed to host a great reunion. You can typically expect the Alumni Office to help support in many of the following ways:
- Provide a list of current ways to contact fellow alumni
- Provide a web site for the event
- Provide online registration for the event
- Help in securing a location for the event and take care of all contracts
- Provide print and/or electronic communication tools and materials
- Develop materials including name tags, tickets, and signs
Q: What do alumni do to make the event successful?
A: Timing is everything. The best reunions have a core group of alumni that get stared early, provide great guidance to the Alumni Office about location, cost, date and time. Many support the event through their personal networks and through the use of social media. They commit early to the event and help get others on board early.
